My child is entering school, what to do with my childcare assistant?
child school childcare

Your little one has grown up: soon it's his first day of school. How to organize things with the nanny?

The time has flown by! Your little Ella has just blown out 4 candles on her cake. In September she is starting preschool. It's one of the classic situations in the care with a home childcare assistant when parents ask questions.

The options in respect to your childcare provider

Ending the childcare: you can end the contract with your childcare provider on the grounds that your child will be at school during your hours of work.

Continue to use your caregiver: Perhaps your little one is starting out with half-day preschool or your work schedule doesn't line-up with his school schedule and so you still need someone to care for him part-time.

Be sure to ask your home caregiver what her rates are for part-time care and, very important, how many hours are included.

The beginning of school comes as no surprise - in fact you and your child have probably been eagerly awaiting this new chapter. Be sure to discuss it with your home childcare provider as much in advance as possible to be sure you're on the same page.Si
