Kathleen, childcare in Montreal

I am an Early Childhood Education graduate from Centennial College. I have experience working with children from different age ranges. I am very excited to begin my journey as a caregiver, I know that this experience will be a great start to my career path. Through my education I have obtained knowledge of child development, health and safety, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and have over 250 hours of child care experience.

A little about me. I am someone who loves nature and spending time outside. I like to cycle, hike, garden, camp - anything outside. I like to be creative through music (guitar), writing, and art.

I have experience working with children from different age ranges. I have had 3 practicums while in school. My first I worked with toddlers that were 17-24 months old. I took lead roles in this childcare centre; leading circle time, implementing activities, outdoor play, diaper changes, and meals. My second and third practicums were in a kindergarten room, I gained experience working with children aged 3-5 years old. This practicum I practiced a lot of large group skills and implemented curriculum (activities).

Also, I have over 8 years of experience from occasional babysitting. Throughout the 8 years I have gained skills in working with many ages, I have been babysitting a girl for these 8 years who has special needs (she is now 16). I have over 4 years of experience volunteering in a class setting, with ages ranging from 10-16 years old.

Again, I have had 2 temporary nanny positions during the summer months. A family with 3 children all under the age of 8 and another family with 2 children under the age of 5. I was able to implement many summer activities and provide a safe and fun environment for all.

*I am currently living in Ontario but would like to relocate to Montreal area. I am not fluent in French but would to be one day! I know enough to get by
