Hello,
My name is Shannon . I am a recent Acadia University graduate with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology. I have worked at the Town of Truro Day Camps for six years, working with children from ages 3-15. At the camps, my duties were to make sure that the kids had an awesome summer but most importantly, a safe summer. I was personally responsible of the other counselors, as well as the children. A typical day at camp includes: free play, low organized games, more structured games, and also encouraging the kids to become creative and create their own games using various objects. I like to encourage kids to think out of the box and use their imagination, while also being active. I believe that it is key for their development.
I am very out-going and approachable. I love to assist anyone, in any way I can. I bring a positive attitude and work my hardest at every project or work placement that I am assigned to. I live a very active lifestyle, as I am involved in many sports either coaching or actually playing myself. Such sports being hockey, rugby, lacrosse, horse back riding, and baseball. I love being outdoors and exploring nature.
