Hi, my name is Lia and I am 34 years old. I live in Carleton Place. I love children of all ages and have taught piano for the last 10 years. I have also successfully run a pet-sitting business for the last 20 years. Because of my love for children I have recently completed the two-year Early Childhood Education program at Loyalist College. I am also registered at the College of ECE's. I am First-aid CPR/AED Level C trained. I also have a Food Handler certificate and Food safety certificate (as I used to work as a dietary aid in a nursing home). I value a child's emotional and physical development and the power of play in their lives. I love to take them on educational trips, outings into the community and nature walks. Lia provided child care for my two children (ages 1 and 6 at the time) in our home and also in a nanny share position with another family. She is warm, kind and engaging with children. She always had fun ideas and activities that were age appropriate and encouraging of their interests. She is responsible and we trusted her to drive our children where they needed to be (school, playgrounds and so on). She prepared meals and snacks when needed and all other toddler related care (naps, diaper changes, etc). She was flexible when I needed to adjust my work hours.
