Présentation
We are a small family, and our boy is 11-years-old and autistic. We are looking for someone with experience working with children with autism, with a very strong command of the English language.
Through special circumstances, we are not currently living near his school, which why we are mostly just looking for someone to help us get him to or from his school in Vancouver, someone who is calm and able to de-escalate any possible meltdowns (which are becoming less frequent).
We have 2 positions available for the start of the school year:
1. Before-school care and school drop-off from Wednesday to Friday His caregiver will pick him up at Royal Ave and McBride in New West and drop him off in Vancouver at 23rd and Sophia at 9:00. Compensation will be for 2 hours/day.
2. After-school pick-up from Monday to Thursday
He is off school at 3:00, and it is very important that he is picked up on time because he gets anxious.
- Drop-offs on Mondays are at his SLP's clinic near Fraser and 18th at 3:30.
- Drop-offs on Tuesday to Thursday are in New Westminster. Drop-offs can be Downtown at Burrard Station at 3:45, but you may get some strong pushback from our boy to the point where it might be easier to drop him off in New West.
Compensation will be as follows:
- 1 hour Mondays
- 2 hours/day Tuesday to Thursday IF dropped off in New West OR 1 hour/day Tuesday to Thursday IF dropped off in Vancouver If you are only able to do 2 or 3 days, we would still like to hear from you.
We do not need you to drive if you do not drive. His school is near transit as is our place in New West.
Thank you so much for your time, and we hope to hear from you soon!
