Lindsey, gardienne - V9Y Port alberni

I have been a nanny for over 15 years and have a BA in Linguistics and Anthropology as well as a BFA in Contemporary Dance from SFU. I have taught creative movement at Arts Umbrella and Artspace and have created dance work for performance in Vancouver. I value the natural world and enjoy going for walks and adventures outdoors.

I have always loved working with children because I relate well to their sense of play and joy for life. I am active and will join a child in play on the floor or at the playground as well as encouraging self-directed activity. I am interested in child development and behaviour and enjoy figuring out the most effective and compassionate way of guiding individual children toward goals. I believe in logical consequences and routine in order to allow the child to feel comfortable and to easily learn expectations. I usually form a comfortable bond with kids based on mutual respect, clear boundaries and play.

I am relocating to Port Alberni and would love to be a helpful addition to a family's routine or provide an organized and fun nanny-share situation.
