Cassandra, gardienne d'enfants - T4S Sylvan lake

I am 26 yr old female with no children of my own. However I do have extensive volunteer experience with children and am most comfortable with children from newborn to age 10. Looking for a full time position, preferably with in Sylvan Lake.

I have a current advanced first aid certification, with child level CPR and AED endorsements, along with previous experience as an EMR. I have a class 5 drivers license with 0 infractions. I am willing to obtain a criminal records check (including vulnerable persons) and drivers abstract.

I don't party, I don't use drugs, and I am willing to submit to drug testing (pre employment and during). I have my own vehicle with 5 seatbelts (including the driver) and 3 car seat latches.

I do have a dog and a cat at home, and I am VERY comfortable with all animals. I volunteer regularly with the Red Deer SPCA. I would love an environment I can bring my dog into, as he's training to be an emotional therapy dog and exposing him to all situations is highly beneficial. Obviously this would include a meet and greet with you prior to introducing him to the rest of the hold.

I am Christian, though I would never consider imposing my religion on you or your children and am a FIRM believer that freedom of religion includes freedom from religion. As such, I am 100 open to learning about your family's belief structure and implementing it in our day to day activities.

I utilize American Sign Language at an intermediate level, as a large portion of my family is profoundly Deaf. I would not consider myself fluent as I still sign very slowly and at times have to look up signs or finger spell. I am confident enough in my abilities to teach baby sign to the children and the family, as well as work towards attaining full fluency.

I am previously a gold metal nationalist for Tae Kwon Do, and apply the tenants to my every day life. Basics such as courtesy, integrity, and perseverance are consistently be applied to my work.

I am a strong believer in teaching children independence, confidence, and imagination. As such I would prefer a hold that discourages screen time and encourages outdoor play and sports.

Educationally I have a strong basis in English, Science and History, and a working knowledge of Mathematics, I am confident I am able to tutor and assist children until grade 9.
