Hi! My name is Shelby . I am currently a 19-year-old Child & Youth Studies Student who is looking to gain extra experience while I am home from school!
I love to read, swim, and stay busy! I find myself looking forward to going to work when I am able to keep busy and discover new ways to improve on my own skills, as well as the people around me. I have very well-developed communication skills, and I love getting to know how to make the children I work with happy!
The current program I am taking to pursue a higher education is a Bachelor of Arts - Child and Youth Study at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia (although my home is in Truro over the summer holiday, Christmas holiday, etc). The Child & Youth Study program is, as found on MSVU's website, a "university degree that is nationally and internationally recognized for employment in a variety of programs and services such as early childhood, child and youth work, mental health, recreation, family support, early intervention and inclusive development".
I thoroughly enjoy working with children and youth, especially younger children. I hope I get to meet you soon!

I am a highly energetic and motivated individual. I love keeping busy, and getting the children who I care for engaged and involved with the environment around them. I believe that my personal experience (younger siblings), my professional experience (child mind centre, day camps) and my academic experience (currently completing a BA of Child & Youth Studies) all add up to make me the perfect match for me and your children, and justify the type of rates I would prefer!
