Christie, gardienne d’enfants à Calgary

I have been nannying and babysitting within my community for nearly 5 years. I am also a volunteer at the Alberta Children's Hospital in the "Child Life" unit. This position requires a very close interaction with the children. We focus primarily on educating the children on procedures they may experience, and coping mechanisms. A lot of the play we participate in is directed by the child and their interests. This is where my desire to work with children really flourished. Although I am not currently First Aid certified I was a lifeguard for 2 years so I have a strong knowledge in first aid. In this position, I was also a swim instructor for kids as young as 4 all the way up to adult swimming lessons I graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition. Starting September 2019 I am hoping to be attending St. Mary's University in Calgary for their post-degree 2-year education program. My interest lies in teaching elementary school-aged children.
