Hello! My name is Sydney. I live in the Burnaby Heights area and would love to offer my services to you and your family. I am new to the area and would love to establish a relationship with my community!
I have over 8 years experience with childcare. I began babysitting when I was 12 years old, after taking the American
Red Cross CPR and babysitters course. My mother ran a daycare in Nelson, B.C. and I began working for her in middle school- high school. As well, I have worked with children ages 2-15 at local summer camps.
I am a cheerful, optimistic and positive person who loves kids! I believe that being young at heart is an asset to be a child care provider. It is important to have the children relate to you, to an extent, but to also be able to provided the care and support they need in order to develop.
I love to read and do craft work on my spare time. I am a very artistic and creative person. I intergrade my passion for the arts with the children I provide care for. Not only do I think expanding your creative side is important, but I think physical actives are as well! A well balanced time full of learning and development is my ideal way to spend a day.

Looking after children is exciting and a great experience. However, it is a great responsibility. The hourly rates are based off on minimum wage and increasing slightly due to the requirements of the job- cooking, cleaning, etc. I believe that childcare is more than simply taking care of the child. It is about building and maintaining a great relationship with not only the child but the parent. As well, helping the children grow in a positive environment. These wages are generously thought about in regards to the great energy and efforts I put into my work.
