Are you looking for regular daytime care for your newborn, infant, or toddler, between the hours of 6am and 7pm? I may be able to help you!

My name is Dakota, and I’m a 23 year old mother of two (almost 2 yrs, and 2 mo), and I’m offering care to similarly aged children during daytime hours, in my own home in Leduc, located near Willow Park School in Telford CRT.

I’m a very artsy, creative individual, and I enjoy creating stimulating activities for kids in my care. My time with my eldest is spent crafting, colouring, or painting. We have multitudes of toys for both independent and team based play, and besides those, I’ve created neat little sensory bins, utilizing materials such as water, soil, and sand, among many other things, for messy play that provides great sensory stimulation that their brains crave. We also try to get out in the fresh air once a day, but obviously with the cold weather, we have been staying in more often than not and exploring fun activities indoors. However, if suitable winter gear is provided, we do have a small backyard, and the Willow Park School playground too frequent.

We are a family who keeps the television on for background noise throughout the day, however, I do realize many families have stricter rules surrounding screen time. Please feel free to share your parenting techniques, and I’ll be happy to adjust the way we do some things to make you feel more comfortable leaving your child in our care!

I can provide a clean vulnerable sector check dated from 2019, within its five year validity, and I am planning to obtain my First Aid / CPR certification in the new year. My partner is currently certified, but as I am our children’s primary caretaker, I figured this would be a necessary certification, and an asset for parents when looking for a sitter.

Our home is fitted with smoke and CO2 detectors on each floor, a fire extinguisher, and multiple first aid kits that my partner regularly restocks. In addition, all our doors and cupboards are secured with childproof locks.

I’d also like to mention that we do have a long haired cat named, Domino, so children sensitive to common allergens might not be the most comfortable in our home. We do brush him regularly, but he sheds pretty consistently, and I want parents to be aware of this. Besides that, he is a wonderful, loyal pet who we cherish as a member of our family.
