Lauren, garde d’enfant à domicile - V4T Westbank

My name is Lauren I am a 20 years old. I grew up with my mother running an at home daycare, so from an early age I've been around children. Once I got to an older age I started volunteering at a children's hospital, playing with the kids, bringing smiles to their faces, fund-raising, etc. I also volunteered at the Special Olympics teaching and helping the children to play softball. I worked as a babysitter for a few years, cleaning, cooking and caring for them. My recent job was as a community support worker, which required me to take care of a 16 year old girl with Down syndrome. I drove her to and from school, participated in her many activities and best of all just spent quality time with her. I have always had a passion for working with kids. Being able to bring joy and happiness to a child has always been a quality of mine. It would be an honour and a pleasure to care for children again and to bring a smile to their hearts as well as my own.
