Calida, jeune fille au pair - V2A Penticton

My name is Calida and I've provided childcare on many levels, to all ages for many years. I have a Bachelors degree in Animal Biology, and a certificate for teaching English. Although I did not go to school for childcare, I have worked with children my entire life, and began independent childcare over 10 years ago. I have worked for several years with children with special needs, including doing support work, respite work and Behaviour Intervention. Growing up with an adopted brother who suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome I have always been exposed to special needs, and I have been able to provide week long relief to my parents for several years. I have provided child care for up to 7 children at a time on my own, including weekend care for a family with 6 children with ages ranging from 1 – 12. Four of these children to this date have been diagnosed with Autism, providing me with lots of experience with multiple individuals with special needs at a time. I have been responsible for home care such as basic housekeeping, helping with personal care, administering medications, shopping for foods and creating meals.

I am currently working as a Teacher, and jobs like this have allowed me to apply teaching different skills and information to kids I work with. I have a class 5 driver’s licence, and I am comfortable driving different vehicles.

I have been described as having a very strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and being very resourceful.
