When I care for kids, I like to get to know them on their terms and talk or play with them as they would like (or not!) Some kids are introverted and shy, some are outgoing and adventuresome. I'm a bit of both - so I find there's always something in kids (and even grown ups : ) ) to relate to easily. I am pretty laid back but follow whatever rules or organizing guidelines parents have in place. I am looking for part time and/or temporary work and am pretty flexible with the time. I am presently working on some educational dvds for priimary school kids so tutoring younger children is no problem. My experience stretches back to before the internet! Back then books and lego were a mainstay in my babysitting not to mention playing 'school' or other games that the kids invented from time to time. Now, there's more internet activity (I have been known to play more than a few games on line so I am no stranger to this) but I find the same things are appreciated - being there; listening and spending time with the kids while letting them take the lead as you make sure they are feeling ok and safe.
Though my availability shows every day of the week - to clarify - I'm looking for part time care or occasional babysitting - a couple days a week or a few part days - not every single day. Hope that makes sense and hope to hear from you soon!
