I grew up on a lake and spent my entire childhood outside. I love being outside and in the water, especially in the summer. I want to be a teacher and I already have experience in schools, both in an elementary school and a high school so I know how to adapt activities for different ages. I worked at a camp for children and young adults who have disabilities so I know that the level of care needed for each child can be completely different. I love music and took piano lessons for eight years, and I also played the trumpet for five years. I would love to integrate music into any activity we would do. I love crafts, and my favourite hobby is to knit. While doing crafts with children can be messy, it is a time that I love, since it teaches the children fine motor skills that are required in life. I love reading and believe that reading to children is important at any age. As a prospective teacher, I would go into any position with the mindset of a teacher: what can be learned from this activity, both by the children and also what I can learn from the children.
