My name is Brianna and my previous jobs and volunteer work with children has really sparked my interest and passion for working with them. I am extremely flexible with hours and do have my own vehicle if you are not located close to the transit. I do currently have a part time job but can easily change my hours for them depending on what hours would work best for you. I am interested in baby sitting and/or part time care. At the age of three I started to take dance classes and the following year I began to compete. Once I was in grade two I danced 30-40 hours a week and this continued on throughout all of Elementary and High School. Competing in dance from a young age taught me about commitment and teamwork and how important it is. Once I turned twelve I was eligible to assist the dance teachers with their youngest recreational classes and as the years went on I began teaching dance. This past summer I worked as a Camp Counselor with the Town of Caledon, which is where I am originally from. Working as a camp counselor I had to complete my First aid and CPR, 20 hours of training on how to interact and care for children. On top of this training it was also mandatory to complete the High Five training course on the principles of healthy child development. Throughout this course you learn how to ensure each child's social, emotional and cognitive needs are met. This course also teaches you several games and activities that will help children with their physical and intellectual skills. Prior to working as a camp counselor I assisted the Owner of The Land of The Glass Slipper in planning and organizing birthday parties, then took the lead when it came to entertaining the children at the party. I worked at The Land of The Glass Slipper for 4 years and after my first year I was given the responsibility to teach the new hires all the basics of the job. This included teaching them several different activities to keep the children engaged, how to resolve any argument between two children if that occurs, what to do if a child gets upset and overall the importance of caring and taking children seriously at all times. I have a lot of experience working with children of all ages and keeping them engaged with activities and games. Children are so impressionable and easily influenced it is extremely important that they have someone with the proper experience and training to look after and care for them. Overall my interest and love for working with children will benefit you and your child/children because of my passion and commitment to be the greatest help that I could possibly be.
