Elena, babysitter - X1A Yellowknife

My name is Elena and I'm originally from Russia. I came to Canada five years ago to study Tourism in Kamloops, BC. I currently work as a full-time manager at Gaia Integrative Clinic; however before I was hired I casually worked as a nanny in Yellowknife for a couple of months. I'm, by no means, a professional nanny; but I love spending time with kids.

I have a sister that is ten years younger than me; I was taking care of her after school since our mother was working full-time. I also have 4 cousins of different ages, currently: 15, 12, 10 and 2, that were a big part of my daily life before my move to Canada. My aunt and their mother, is a nurse, so she was always grateful for some help with the children after night shifts.

Once I moved up north, I had a privilege of working for a great family with two twin boys, age 3, 5. Our favourite activities were reading books at home and at the library, going for walks and visiting museum, playing piano and dancing.
I've also worked as a children's camp leader in 2011 and had 33 kids, ages 10-18 under my supervision for 21 days. The summer camp itself was located in Ukraine and we had to travel by train for 2 days. I was responsible for their documents, money that parents gave them and their safety on the train. Daily activities included swimming, English lessons and evening entertainment program. At the end of the day, I would feel so exhausted that falling asleep wasn't a problem. But I absolutely loved every single minute.
Winters can be long in Yellowknife and being around kids brings me tons of joy! I'm hoping to be of some help to any family with kids or infants that would like an evening or two off, also available on weekends :) I can certainly help around the house as well.
