Hey there!
My name is Darcy, I am a 24 year old male, who has a lot of experience and has a lot to offer children and youth of every age.
From the age of 13 I have been a prominent advocates for the rights of children and youth in and from the care of the government.
I have also spent a summer working in a daycare, with all children all different ages. I also had the priveledge to work, help and aid an amazing young man who has autism. I loved every minute working with him, the good and the bad. It was an amazing experience.
I have a passion for working with children, it gives me great joy and statisfaction when I see a child learn something from me, or smiling and laughing when they are having fun and enjoying themselves. I love being able to pass on what I know to the next generation. Children are our future.
I also went to school at St. Lawrence College where I graduated in 2012 from the Advanced Child & Youth Worker Program.
In June of 2012 I left for Subotica, Serbia. Where I spent the next ten months teaching hockey and skating to children as well as being lucky to mentor them and be a role model. I was a coach but also a friend. I helped teach them our English language while at the same time they were teaching me their Serbian language. I enjoyed all of it, every mintue spent there was another memory and experience forever etched in my life.
It has been a little bit since I have been able to follow my passion with working with children and youth. I still volunteer on a regular basis for the provincial advocates office; where I continue to advocate for children and youth rights.
