Hi there!

My name is Shaelyn , I am 18 years old (19 in August!) and will have completed my first year in Nursing by the Summer of 2016 along with a 2 week clinical in a nursing home setting.

Growing up, I was raised in a big family (7of us kids) so being around kids is my absolute favourite! I have experience in babysitting my little sister (9 years old now) since she was young so I believe I have a quality working knowledge on how to care for children. In addition to babysitting my little sister, I have 2 years experience coaching children ages 4-7 soccer skills, engaging them in activities and aiding in their physical development.

Due to my time spent with kids, I believe I have built upon my ability to care for and engage children, to ensure they remain safe in their environment while enjoying whatever activity they may be completing.

As for my personality, I am a very outgoing, positive, energetic person who is exceptionally determined in all aspects of life. I am quick on my feet and can problem solve easily which is key when caring for children as solutions don't always come so easily for them!

Lastly, if given the opportunity to care for your child, I will listen intently always, smile with them when they are enjoying themselves and support them when they need assistance. Thank you for your consideration and I hope to hear from you and your family soon!

Shae was a Staff Soccer Coach at the soccer program I run in West Vancouver, Street Soccer. Our program caters to over 300 children aged 4-6, for which Shae provided soccer lessons. Her responsibilities included: verbal instruction, physical guidance, demonstrations and child care. Coaches also must build and maintain positive relationships with the children's parents. She is a fantastic caregiver and instructor. She works exceptionally well with children, using her personality to keep them engaged, on task and having fun. Shae is confident, self-motivated and very outgoing. We've received plenty of outstanding feedback about her, from both the players and their parents, which is a testament to her performance. I was very impressed with Shae's maturity and assertiveness. Shae is pro-active when it comes to problem solving. She demonstrates poise and composure under pressure. Most importantly, Shae is a very hard worker who holds herself to high standards of quality. I was always able to count on her for positive results, and strong decision making skills, which made her an extremely valuable employee. It was a pleasure to have Shae on my staff and she'd make an excellent candidate for a position in childcare.
