Hello!
My name is Laurenne and I am interested in childcare work within the Saint John/KV area.

I am interested in caring for children of all ages and with all needs. I am available week days and most weekends for this summer season of 2015. I am very patient, easy-going, creative, and loving. I am relaxed, but very responsible. I think it is important to make children feel that what they have to say is important and to praise them for the positive things they do. This helps them build confidence to grow.
My strengths are in the creative field. I love to do arts and crafts and get messy (within reason) to help kids learn to explore and try new things. I am also a great listener and love the outdoors.

Work Experience:
I studied Sociology and Fine Art at St.FX University from 2008-2012.

I continued on to work as an Au-Pair in Austria, where I cared for and helped teach English to four girls (Aged 2, 4, 8, and 12) in their home. I also taught an English class once a week at a local elementary school. I helped these children prepare for their exams and practice speaking through fun interactive games, table activities and gym activities.

In between my international travels, I worked as an Autism Support Worker for pre-school aged children. I helped them with speech development, social interaction, play and motor skills, as well as potty training and other needed developmental skills (child specific).

In my early working years, I was a theatre camp coordinator and put on summer camps for children to come and learn design elements of theatre and the performing arts.
