Kari, professional childcarer in Ottawa (the glebe / ottawa south / ottawa east) K1S

Hello,
I'm a university educated mother of one who ran her own day care for over 12 yrs. I generally cared for four children, up to the ages of 4 or 5. Several of the children would be considered 'special needs'. I was very active, taking them to local parks, play groups, libraries, music classes, beaches, and appropriate festivals, museums, etc. We also baked, did lots of crafts, read, played age appropriate games... Never was television used to occupy the children.
Three years ago I stopped taking children after my husband was diagnosed with a life threatening illness. He has now recovered. My daughter is 16 yrs of age, plays ringette, the piano, skis, and does endless homework. I am still an active parent, I volunteer for the ringette association, our community association, and spent 8 yrs working the crisis line of the sexual assault centre of Ottawa.
I very much miss working with children, though I still maintain relationships with many of the children who shared my life.
