To Start - February/March Position Description The nanny is a specialist working in the family’s home, responsible for all tasks related to care of the children. The nanny will serve as a loving, nurturing and trustworthy companion to children. Major Responsibilities Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children Supervise the children’s activities at all times Plan and prepare meals, make lunches, and feed, the children Dress the children (help the older children to dress themselves) Place the child down for naps Change diapers Potty train the youngest Light housework in main living areas Perform housework related to child care, including washing the children’s clothes, cleaning up after meals, tidying play areas Teach the children good social manners Play with the children, both indoors and outdoors. Must do an activity outside daily (park, walk etc) - weather permitting Plan and lead educational activities, including reading, with the children Discipline the children, when necessary Potentially drive the children to and from activities Driving children to and from school/pre-school as required Administer medicine to the children as required Monthly outing with the kids (zoo, science centre etc.) Job Qualifications and Requirements High school graduate Experience caring for children Training in early childhood education preferred First aid training and child and infant CPR Car, driver’s license, auto insurance, and safe driving history (Driver's abstract will be required) Authorization to work in Canada Criminal Record Check English proficiency - Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset Reliable, honest, and trustworthy Physical ability to care for a young child Ability to plan, organize, and multitask with minimal supervision **Must own a vehicle - as we do not live on the bus route** Kids aged - 6, 4, 18 months Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 5:00PM. One day off every other week (90 hours bi-weekly) 2 weeks paid vacation
