I have worked with children, in various capacities for over 15 years, and I am available to care for your child.
After completing my Developmental Services Worker diploma, with near perfect grades I became an Educational Assistant at an Ottawa area school, where I worked for seven years. I resigned from the school board in order to complete my undergraduate degree in psychology, which I did 2011, again with near perfect grades.
Following the completion of my degree I moved to Toronto and found employment as a behaviour therapist, working with children who have autism. This position required completion of a specialized course, written test and video evaluation. I enjoyed working with children in this capacity, and I was quite successful with it. Both supervisors and parents were thrilled with the service I provided, and my peers looked up to me. In March of 2018 I gave birth to my own little one and began my maternity leave.
We moved our small family of three back to Ottawa in November in order to raise our son Charlie, close to his extended family. Having left my job behind in Toronto, and with our new little one approaching the age of one, I feel that now is the perfect time to expand my career by providing care and education privately, for children of any developmental level.
By hiring me to care for your child you can expect creativity, warmth and education for your little ones. You can expect work on various behavioural struggles that every family faces when raising children. You will hear suggestions for techniques in managing any difficult behaviour, and you’ll hear positive parts of our day, and see these highs on the faces of your young ones. You can expect time spent outside, art activities, sensory play, stories, songs and play in any other area you may wish me to focus on.
It is my goal to provide care for children and support for families in the Ottawa area. I will call on my formal education and work experience as well as my innate love for nurturing young minds in order to provide the best care possible for your child.
