I am 24 years old and have been working with children since I have been old enough not to be called one myself, I started as a Jr high camp counselor at 14 years old, and worked at summer camps for 3 summers in a row, I also have baby sat and cooked for my baby cousins one was 4 and the other was under 6 months. I also took the baby sitting course when I was 14 and worked as a baby sitter then,
I have my School and Community Support Worker degree, which means that I am have been educated in multiple disabilities including physical, mental, and cognitive, and have a passion for this work. I currently work a couple evenings a week with a teenager who is on the Autism Spectrum, and we work on cooking, baking, math, social skills, as well as just have fun playing different board games, drawing, or going to the park or beach.
On top of that, I have gone over seas multiple times as a volunteer, and worked in orphanages 3 times, in Vietnam I worked in an infants orphanage where I helped with hygiene, and assisted with physiotherapy activities, I also taught English to teenagers with and without disabilities. I have more volunteer experience as well, but not all of it child related, some food shelter, animal shelter, and house building.
Occasional babysitting | $10.00 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $12.00 per hour |
These rates are not firm, we can talk about them, however I am thinking that I have recent child first aid training, experience at summer camps, and willing to cook and clean, as well as a School and Community Support Worker degree, which means if you have a child with any type of physical or cognitive disability I am specifically trained to work with them and have experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
