Hello!
My name is Diandra, and I just recently graduated from teachers college in New Zealand. After returning from a year abroad, I have gained a different lens on what teaching is really about. My passion is shaping children into successful beings, while engaging them into activities that they actually enjoy. I strive to ensure that all of my students have fun while doing so. At the moment, I am looking to gain experience in all areas of childcare. From my positive experiences in the classroom (and dealing with 28 kids at one time) I feel that I am very comfortable and confident in my abilities to provide excellent care, no matter what age of children I am around, and what environment I am put into. Along with helping with aspects of school, and educational activities, I am excited to get to know the children I work with and plan activities around their interests. I find that when a child is fully immersed into an activity they are genuinely interested in, the experience will be that much more meaningful to them, and stick in their minds for a much longer time.
Personally, I am someone who loves to find the good in things. Such as laughter. I love to be silly and make kids laugh and feel comfortable being themselves. But I also pride myself on sticking to a routine and finding what works best and running with it.
At my previous job, I worked with a group of children running a before and after school program. This involved planning each week out based on the high interests of the previous week. This has given me an increased amount of experience finding different activities to suit all different types of children. Especially those with learning disabilities. I have experience with large group games, as well as small, quiet activities, either indoor or outdoor.
Furthermore, I am very understanding in my position in the sense that I know every child is different. However, I do not view this as a downfall, but as an opportunity for me to gain insight and develop different ideas to help the child succeed, and most importantly...have fun!
Home nanny | $20.00 per hour |
In regards to pay, $20 per hour would be acceptable for multiple children. If the family would like to negotiate a rate per child, I am very open to discussing rates!
