Hello Everyone,

My name is Miriam and I am a certified teacher for the Primary/Junior Division, with my undergraduate degree in Fine Arts. I have experience working in a daycare teaching private piano lessons to children ages 3-9. I also provided childcare for with children ages 1-9 when I wasn't teaching piano. I can play 4 instruments and I am very passionate about the arts (music, visual arts, photography, creative writing, dance etc) and bring that passion and experience to the children I am taking care of. Having previous experience prior to my daycare job, I babysat for 2 girls ages 2 and 4. I am able to both babysit and tutor the children I am working with. My approach for tutoring is to cater to the students individual needs, interests, and strengths, and acknowledge and appreciate the small achievements, focus on specific learning goals, use visual aids, as well as hands on tools in order for each student to be successful. Having fun and learning at the same time is essential to a happy, healthy individual. I’m an encouraging and patient person and teacher who truly enjoys seeing students improve and succeed by teaching the transferable skills to help them flourish in any subject and to continue to be lifelong learners.

I am First Aid & CPR certified, love to cook and prepare healthy and nutritious snacks, active, and enjoy playing outdoors and games with the children. Some of my hobbies and interests are: Painting, Drawing, Traveling, Yoga, Pilates, Bicycling, and going on walks and being out in nature.
