Hi there! I am what most people would describe as a young "grandma" type of person. For as long as I can remember, I LOVED babies and children... from the age of 13 I started my babysitting career. My 7 month old nephew(at the time-he's 43 now!) was my first client. And it went from there. my father worked at Carnation and spread the word around that I was available to babysit and word quickly got around. I became VERY busy real fast as a lot of my Dad's coworkers were young family men. Not to brag but...it seemed like I was everybody's favorite babysitter. Kids would ask for ME!!! And it remained that way until I left home at 19.
As much as I enjoyed children, I was never lucky enough to have my own, sadly...As the years passed, I lost hope...Then I met the man I am now with. He is a divorced father of 2 girls. When he came into my life, they were only 4 and 7...they are now 14 and (almost!) 17...I became their full time "mother" 3 years ago when their mother, who has mental problems, moved to BC. It was daunting at first because I felt like it was left to me to save the day and help everybody deal with the fallout but now it's second nature to me. I know I did the right thing by doing right by these girls.
Partial / after-school care | $2.00 per hour |
Home nanny | $5.00 per hour |
I would have to get back to you on this subject as I am not familiar with the going rates. It would largely depend on the type and amount of services I would be providing. I would also be happy to negotiate with the parents.
