Hi there! My name is Sofia and I’m 18 years old (19 in August).
I have volunteered for the city of Toronto parks and recreation program at Park Lawn JMS since I was 11 and started working as a camp counsellor and teacher (art, science, soccer, volleyball, etc) since I was 16 years old.
I have paid experience working with children ages 3-12 as well as unpaid experience taking care of my baby cousins and family members ages 0-2.
I am no stranger to changing a diaper, sterilizing bottles, and proper infant care!!
I am very hard working and absolutely love what I do! I find that making meaningful connections with children early on in their lives really does develop their social skills as well as social understanding.
I plan to be a kindergarten teacher and am currently in my first year of university at OCADU taking Environmental design. Eventually I will be applying to York’s Glendon campus for a french immersion teachers college program seeing as I am fluent in French.
