Our Family:
We are a soon-to-be family of four living on the park in Uptown Waterloo. Our son turned three in May and we are expecting another boy sometime this summer.
Both parents have leadership roles in a remote-forever software startup and are looking for someone to grow into our family in a way that enables us to be as effective as possible at work while honouring that we value family.
Mom will be off of work with the new baby from July-January, and our nanny’s priority will be providing engaging and energetic care for our three year old in our home and in the immediate surrounding neighbourhood.
Our nanny of over two years is gradually reducing her hours and moving on to roles in her field of study. It would be ideal to find someone to fill this role for a July 5th start date, but we’re open to exploring start dates as late as September.
Our Philosophy:
As parents, we aim to be intentional and disciplined in how we approach child rearing, learning, and development. We value child-led and independence-driving approaches that prioritize autonomy, depth, and a systemic understanding of the world around us. We prefer unstructured learning and are happy to coach on how to enable that.
About our Son:
Gentle, kind, and very caring
Intense and sensitive
Has big feelings, and loves cuddles
Inquisitive, curious, and considers ideas thoroughly
Enjoys playing outdoors, exploring the forest and creek, and having picnics
Will read as many books as you are willing to sit through
Seeks out opportunities to take things apart, learn how they work, and fix them again
