Laura, home childcare in Hamilton (central / strathcona / south dundurn)

I am a student at McMaster University studying Sociology and Anthropology. My main interests are family, children and youth, marriage, mental health, and social deviance. I have been babysitting on and off since I was in gr.7 (so around 12 years old). When I was a child my mother was a babysitter in our home therefore I used to help her with the kids (as I was the oldest). I volunteered with children as a music leader at my church for 2 summers, during high school in the Learning Life Skills program and academic students, we have foster children in my home as well, and I worked as a Child Developmental Work last summer at Community Partners for Success. As seen, I am trying to gain experience in working with different children to build skills but I also enjoy working with children because it is rewarding being part of their accomplishments.
