I've been babysitting since I was about 11 years old, in the church nursery and daycare, working with newborns and young children. I've been babysitting for a family since they had their first child, who is now 7 years old, with a brother who is 5, and another brother who is just over a year old! I've also babysat for many different families throughout the years, with children aged 0 (newborn) to 12 years old. I love taking care of children because it's always a fun job! I'm very creative, and love making up games and crafts with the kids, as well as themes for meals depending on what the child(ren) are interested in! For example, the 3 boys I babysit love the movie How to Train Your Dragon. Together we all made fire breathing dragon masks out of paper cups and tissue paper. I also love being able to influence and help teach children as they grow up. What makes the job so exciting for me is what I learn about myself along the way, in the times that I am forced to think out of the box to problem solve. It truly is a very self fulfilling job, while at the same time, I love that I am able to give back to my community. I love cooking and baking! I have taken piano lessons since I was 5, and voice lessons since I was 10. I love swimming and camping. I am a huge nature lover! I'm very creative, and love writing, drawing, painting, and all sorts of crafts!
Occasional babysitting | $10.50 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $11.10 per hour |
Home nanny | $10.00 per hour |
I charge a flat rate of minimum wage. Although I do believe I go above and beyond what is expected from minimum wage pay, I don't necessarily need to be paid any more because I love working with kids and that is a reward in itself!
