I really enjoy working with kids. My specific approach depends on the age of the kids & the expectations of the parents. If the parents want me to spend all of my time focused on the kids, I can do that. If they would like me to do some household chores, I can help the kids to be occupied with something else while I do those tasks.
I try to be reasonable & calm in my approach to the kids as far as correcting them goes. They're little humans, and we all have attitude problems sometimes :). I also understand it can take the kids a while to adjust to a new person. If, however, I'm unable to work with them in a way that's good for the kids & sane for me, I would reserve the option of no longer working for those families. In my experience however, that has rarely happened.
Specific activities that I could do really depend on specific situations. I'm flexible & I can talk specifics with families once we have an idea of what they're looking for in child care.
Occasional babysitting | $13.00 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $14.50 per hour |
Babysitting is usually, less frequent & is generally just about looking after the kids. Part time has more structure & usually involves extra household jobs. Each situation is unique & my rates are subject to change based on number of kids and weight of responsibility.
