Hi there! My name is Hope and I am a culinary arts graduate who is pursuing a career change based on the realization that I deeply enjoy childcare and have a natural knack for entertaining children of any age. I begin school in the spring for early childhood education and will need to relocate closer to Sydney in February.
The global pandemic has been an eye opener to everyone in one way or another and for myself especially. I want to spend my days doing things that I'm passionate about and providing a healthy, safe and supportive space for children I'm supervising is something that comes to me easily.
I love to answer questions, even the repetitive, deeply curious ones that I not always know the answer for right away. I believe kids deserve more than an authoritative, dismissive response that leaves them without the attention they need.
I am creative and love to get hands on with enriching activities, go exploring in nature and create an environment that encourages kids to learn as they play.
I am independent and I have an irish wolfhound dog who enjoys being around children as much as I do, even the wobbly toddlers. I have grown up alongside service dogs of all backgrounds and I'd like to share the knowledge I have in regards to appropriately interacting with well mannered animals, for children who might not get the chance within their own homes without pets. I also have an affordable boarding kennel for my dog when I'm needed for a longer period of time.
Being a chef means that I can cook the meanest grilled cheese in the world, or I can roast an entire chicken if you'd prefer. I'm flexible towards dietary needs. I also love to bake, and can certainly involve children safely in the process.
I am certified as an advanced medical first responder, as well as taking multiple first aid courses throughout my high-school years and a babysitter certification course back in elementary school. I'm an oldest sibling with an adolescent history of raising a younger sibling, so childcare comes naturally.
I look forward to hearing from you, thanks for reading this far!
Hope 🙂
