Shayla, childcare provider in St. albert T8N

Hello!

My name is Shayla. I have been in the childcare field between three and a half years to four years. My first couple years I spent as a Live in nanny and I loved the experience! I cared for four children, aged between three to eleven. Some of my duties included walking children to and from school, house cleaning, and meal prep and cooking.

Currently I have been employed in a daycare for a little over a year and a half. I have learned some great skills while working with children in a more educational role. Some of my current duties include planning a variety of the weeks activities that are age appropriate, cleaning, assisting children with learning empathy and how to healthily express emotions, ect.

I am CPR and first aid certified and also have my Child Development Assistant Certificate. I attended the 2016 Childcare Conference at Grant Macewan as well.

I strongly believe children should get as much outside play as possible! I try to encourage creativity in children and love to see what amazing things they can come up with.
