Hello there!
My name is Katie , I've been living in Kelowna nearly three years, I rent an apartment in town, and I have my own reliable vehicle and proper insurance. I'm currently working for a retail auditing company and have been looking for a change for some time now, and I think getting back into child care could be just the change I need. I'm also volunteering up to four times per month for short 4 hr shifts for Kelowna Community Resourses as a phone worker for the local crisis line. I plan on keeping this job due to it's incredibly easy going and self administered schedule. I'm originally from the coast of B. C; specifically Haida Gwaii which is a small fishing/logging town on the coast just south of Alaska. I spent my entire childhood up there and that is where I began babysitting for a few nights a week as a teen. I babysat for my boss; the head librarian at the local library. I also babysat for several other families in town. When I moved to Victoria B. C at 17 to attend University I began caregiving for two young children in my second year. I worked there for the entire year until the start of my summer holidays from school. While I was there I changed diapers, fed and helped wash the children, and took them out for activities (parks, beach, walks etc.) and play dates.
I love children and have since I was old enough to realize that I could be a positive role model to them and that I had a natural ability at simply getting along with children. I would love to get a chance to talk with you to see if this would be the right fit!
Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Katie
Occasional babysitting | $12.00 per hour |
I'm absolutly willing to negotiate my rate, but the fact of the matter is; I'm trying to make a living, and simply want to be paid a fair wage for my time. Thanks very much!
