I am an Registered Practical Nurse, but am currently a student as I am continuing my studies to obtain a BScN. I am seeking employment for the summer before my return to school in the fall, and I am adaptable as far as hours go. Because of my health care experience, I am capable of working with children that have health issues or concerns.
From my experience at the Boys and Girl's Club, I am able to run both group activities, as well as 1 on 1 care, as I was a group leader and an inclusion facilitator. As an inclusion facilitator, I was mostly involved in 1 on 1 care for children with special needs. From my experience as a nanny, I provided activities such as going to parks, educational workbooks, and indoor and outdoor play at the home. We had a no-television policy, and the children enjoyed playing with trains, building blocks, and games of invention, imagination, and creativity. We had a structured daily routine as preparation for school, and it was successful.
I enjoy cooking/baking, being outdoors, and sports (especially hockey, as a former North Simcoe Capital). Most of all, I enjoy caring for others.
