I love children and have a lot of experience with caring for them, as I did an after school care program at my school throughout my grade 12 year. In addition to this I babysat a handful of these children outside of school as well. Having recently moved to Halifax from Calgary, I do not know anyone to babysit for as of yet, but I am more than happy to provide references upon request. I predominantly have experience with children aged 4-6 but am capable of other ages, boys and girls.

I am a first year student at Dalhousie, raised in Calgary and attended Delta West Academy from kindergarten all the way to grade 12. To be honest, out of everyone back home I miss the kids I used to babysit the most and I'm thrilled to say that a few of them call me their best friend!

Being as I am a full time student living off campus, I'm looking for ways to supplement my income. My schedule is very flexible and I am very reliable and punctual.

I have a lot of experience with art so I really enjoy doing crafts, drawing/colouring and other creative activities. I prefer to engage children in some kind of activity that allows them to learn in someway, and exercise their mind and body, rather than sitting around and watching TV for the day. If it's nice out, I like to go to the park, go on walks, give piggy back rides, play games, etc. (Much of my afterschool life last year was spent playing tag!) I generally try to cater to the childs' interests when choosing games/activities, but will always encourage them to try something new as well.

Furthermore, I am an avid cook and always prefer healthier, home cooked meals to fast/junk food, although moderation is of course key. I am very tidy and always clean up after myself. You won't have to worry about your child going hungry or your kitchen getting destroyed. In the past, I usually try to cook with the child (for instance, we once made sushi together) so as to get them more involved and have some fun in the meantime.
