Mikayla, childcare in Edson

My name is Mikayla, I am 20 years old and absolutely love working with children. I have been babysitting since I was 13, and started part-time and full time nannying when I was 16. When I am able to, I would love to be able to get my Early Learning and Childcare certificate so that I can work in a day care, preschool, open my own day home, be a TA, or work in a kindergarten class. I have experience working with children from birth to about age 12. I am very open to working with children who have special needs and I have experience working with children who have special needs (primarily autism and down syndrome). I am willing to learn anything that would aid in the care of your child(ren).

My biggest goal wen caring for children is there safety and well being including mental, emotional, and physical health.

I love reading with children, doing crafts, cooking with them (age appropriate duties will be assigned), encouraging them to clean up after themselves, having quite time to calm them down, trying to find activities to do depending on the weather (playing outside in warm weather, etc.), organizing play dates as approved by parents, etc.

Keeping children on their regular schedule is extremely important to me and I will follow routines as instructed by parents. I will also keep a note book that states activities, meals, any problems, any exciting moments, etc. so that the parents know what their child is doing and consuming just in case parents notice any changes in their child.
