My name is Hannah and I am interested in working for you and your family. I am new to Alberta and I am a recent graduate of Saint Mary’s University in Halifax with my B. A in Asian Studies and History. I have also attended Université Sainte Anne in Church Point, Nova Scotia - a small French community - and Sapporo University - In Sapporo, Japan - throughout the course of my studies. I am a multi-lingual highly skilled worker with lots of experience in varying fields. I spent many years in music programs growing up. From age 9 to age 15 I took classical cello, from age 11 to age 17 I took flute and from early childhood until high school I attended several choirs. I am a very patient person and I enjoy working with others, as well as on my own. I am a very fun, active, friendly, responsible, compassionate and understanding individual. I am highly adaptable and a fast learner. I enjoy taking on new challenges and completing them in a timely fashion. I enjoy coming up with solutions, if I see any problems and providing my input when needed for the benefit of the child I am charged with.
I am an experienced babysitter, I spent my childhood and teenage years caring for children from the age range of 18 months to 14 years old. During my youth I took several courses for babysitters as well. My skills are in a wide range of fields but they include leadership skills from many years as a counselor-in-training at a summer camp in Nova Scotia where I was charged with the care of 5-25 children. I also have experience as a counselor at the health center of Saint Patrick’s High School so I am relatively shock proof when children ask questions regarding their sexual health or any other difficult subject matter. Due to my past experience in leadership positions I am comfortable looking after individual and groups of children. I would love to help you and your family as a team player. I am also experienced in handling stressful situations calmly, I have an extensive background in problem solving, thinking on my feet in a fast paced environment and I am assertive without being aggressive. I spent a summer as a lifeguard in Nova Scotia where I acquired advanced medical training including the use of defibrillator, oxygen tank administration, CPR level A and first aid. However, I have yet to re-certify my qualifications since ‘07 but I always check up on any changes to first aid treatment and administration. Additionally, I am experienced in advanced hand to hand combat & weapons defense training where I also received training in the Canadian code of conduct for defense purposes. I also volunteered for the Discover the Halifax Regional Police department program where I received training in various aspects of policing, so your children are extremely safe while in my care. These qualifications among others, make me a first class candidate for the task of caring for your child.
I am excited to come and work for your family and I hope you will take the time to consider me. I am available for an interview scheduled at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Hannah
