Hi, my name is Catherine! :)

I am a 24 year-old, studying to become a Recreation Therapist. I have taken courses in child development and have a variety of volunteer experience, working with children with and without disabilities in a leadership role. I currently volunteer as an executive and swimming instructor with Making Waves Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) – an aquatics program for children with disabilities. As a swimming instructor, I have taught children with Angelman syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy. Additionally, I co-led a group of children with autism through various recreation activities, including animal balloon making and Wii games, at Simon Fraser University’s Social Science Camp. I have also supervised my younger siblings, niece, and nephew on various occasions.

I am available to babysit on weekends and evenings, from mid-April to the end of August, 2016. I will be returning to the University of Waterloo to continue my studies in the fall.
