I am a retired elementary school teacher, who would like to find part-time employment working with children. I taught regular and resource classroom, music, French and art. I have additional qualifications for education special needs children. I am also a reading specialist. I play the piano with conservatory certification to Grade VIII level. I love crafts and games. Students and parents often told me they loved my sense of humour and my affection for my students.
I am told I am an excellent cook and I would be happy to plan dinners or lunches as needed and either begin to prepare them or have them ready when the parent/parent returns home.
I am also an excellent organizer and in past child care positions have helped design and implement organization for toys, homework, clothing, kitchens etc. If I can organize 20 Grade One students, I can organize a home. I am willing to do light housekeeping.
I am a non-smoker. I love animals, I have two dogs and two cats. I have cared for hamsters, lizards, gerbils and birds in the past so I am pretty open to any animal.
I would describe myself as calm in a crisis, humourous, adaptable and tolerant of pretty much anything except outright rudeness/defiance, but I know how to manage that as well.

I think that it is fair that the rate be commensurate with duties requested. If it is child supervision only that is a low rate, if it includes cooking, cleaning, bathing, homework etc. then a higher rate would be more suitable.
