Shannon, baby sitter in Orillia

Hello,

My name is Shannon and I am 19 years old and in school working towards becoming a social worker. I decided to go into this field because I would like to effect positive change in the world. I also enjoy learning about, understanding, helping, and meeting people which this career is perfect for.

I am looking for part-time care. I am more than willing to work weekends and evenings. I am attending school so hours in the day may not always be possible but I am flexible and willing to find a way around schedule conflicts.

I am a patient, hard-working, understanding, eager-to-learn, positive, and committed person. I think these qualities are essential to being a great caregiver, especially positivity and patience.

I have worked with children for 2 out of my 3 jobs. I was a camp counsellor and an after-school program counsellor. I also babysat a few times as a replacement for a friend who wasn't able to. My overall professional experience with children is estimated to be a little over 1 year. Despite the lack of professional childcare experience, I have cared for many of my young cousins and some family friends with children.
