Hello!
I am currently on a break from a degree in Environmental and Conservation Sciences and recently came back from five months traveling in India. I'm living in Nelson until I start a new job in the spring doing forest firefighting in Alberta.
In terms of nannying, I spent several of my teenage years babysitting for family friends and other families through word of mouth. I did a babysitting course when I was 12 and since renewed my Emergency First Aid in 2014.
Between 2013-2014 I lived in Montreal. I improved my French through studying at the 'Commission Scholaire de Montréal, ' and have reached a stage of conversational fluency. I'd be delighted to have the opportunity to interact in French again.
Since I'm in Nelson short-term I imagine I will be best suited for those who need a caregiver on a day-by-day basis. However I am absolutely willing to take on a part-time or ongoing position.
I would describe myself as adventurous and outgoing, respectful and responsible. I am a great appreciator of nature and love to be outside, I love the mountains. As a caregiver, I think it's important to actively participate with the children and realize the importance of the caregiver's role in a child's life. It can be an enriching opportunity to share experiences and perspectives on both sides. Before traveling I was a hockey player, skier, snowboarder, and hiker - I've always enjoyed taking full advantage of Canadian winters!
I am also glad to help with homework and I can cook simple meals.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
