Hello :) My name is Jen. I am a 31 year old woman who is very passionate about working with children. I have attended college for Early Childhood Education and have over 12 years of paid childcare experience. I have worked in various childcare settings including private residences, daycare centres, and volunteer positions throughout the community. I am a fairly "right brained" individual, who possesses a love for all things creative! Some of my hobbies and interests include art, music, dance, yoga (I am a certified yoga instructor), meditation, nature, reading, and writing. I enjoy sharing many of these interests with the children I care for. I am a sensitive and compassionate person by nature, and I believe in honouring and nurturing each child's individual personality, gifts, interests, and challenges. I am fairly active (although I also greatly value quiet time) and I love being outdoors. I am definitely not the kind of caregiver that would sit the children in front of the television all day! I find it much more enjoyable to engage the children in developmentally appropriate activities such as crafts, games, outings, etc. I am able to do several tasks simultaneously without becoming overwhelmed. I am willing to do light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming and laundry, as well as errands such as grocery shopping. I love to cook and I personally eat very healthy.
