Lana, au pair - V7Y Vancouver (pacific centre)

Hello all! My name is Lana and I am 25 years old from Edmonton, AB. I am moving to Vancouver area as soon as I find a new nanny job. I need to make a couple trips down prior to moving as well and can work around any schedule! My current work experience is a little different than nannying as I have worked in the Oil & Gas industry for 7 years with Finning Canada. Skills I use daily at work include patience, multi tasking, being safety conscious, and being a great communicator. The reason I am looking for such a drastic career change is just due to needing some change in my life. I am not very passionate about the industry I am in and feel my abilities could be used better else where.

I am the second oldest of 6 children, having two 15 year old brothers and a 13 year old sister. As well as an 11 year old neice. They are my pride and joy and getting to watch them grow has been a true blessing for me. I grew up in the country so we experienced a lot of different activities day to day. Throughout their whole lives I have taken a huge part of raising them. I get along with all age ranges of children but can really relate well with preteens. I'm that fun loving older sibling they wish they had! While maintaining a responsible, professional and courteos behavior.

I love working with children of all ages. There is most always a way to relate to them. It inspires me to know I can help shape their small minds and help establish lifelong habits, such as organizational skills and manners that will aid them in becoming successful adults.

I am looking for a live in position if possible. At least to start with. Although I do have two small hypoallergenic Yorkies. They are trained not to bark and use pee pads. They would be able to stay in my suite/room during work hours. I am hoping this is negotiable.

I bought my first home when I was 21 years old and moved out of home at 18 so I have a lot of experience maintaining a happy home :) this includes daily laundry, cooking and cleaning. I also have experience with light landscaping and gardening.

I do not currently have up to date first aid or CPR but am willing to get it done ASAP. I also have a brand new VW Jetta that is very reliable.
